Cléberson Garcia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Breno Paes got free with Rodrigo Romero in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dráusio Gerber recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Palestra Itália's Léo Queirós got a free kick in the 12th minute. Dráusio Gerber was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 13th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Breno Paes got free with Rodrigo Romero in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Evaristo Botelho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Rodrigo Romero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Sidney Mello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Quandus's Albertinho Pinho got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 37th minute, Dráusio Gerber got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Isaltino Capixaba hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
Palestra Itália's Evaristo Botelho got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Breno Paes in the 53rd minute of play forced Quandus's goalkeeper Rodrigo Romero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 54th minute, Evaristo Botelho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rodrigo Romero was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. In the 60th minute, Dráusio Gerber got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 62 minutes into the game, Albertinho Pinho was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Quandus's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Palestra Itália the free kick. In the 62nd match minute, Quandus was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Albertinho Pinho to maneuver through the defense. Quandus's Rodrigo Romero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Evaristo Botelho in the 65th minute of play. Arlindo Dias showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sidney Mello, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Evaristo Botelho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Rodrigo Romero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rodrigo Romero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cléberson Garcia in the 77th minute of play. Palestra Itália's Evaristo Botelho got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Quandus booed when Palestra Itália was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cléberson Garcia didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rodrigo Romero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Breno Paes in the 84th minute of play. In the 85th minute, Breno Paes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Quandus's Albertinho Pinho got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rodrigo Romero came out of the goal in the 91st minute to try and stop a shot by Palestra Itália's Breno Paes. But to his dismay, Breno Paes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. After a rather tough play, Quandus's Ramón Campidelis got a free kick in the 95th minute. There was no doubt that Palestra Itália were the better team. Palestra Itália's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
