Didi Mello made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Marco Lara could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 8th minute of the match, but Mazinho Motta made a huge save. After 10 played minutes Imperial FC got a freekick which was hit by Diogo Medeiros. Agnaldo Aparecido, 11 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 12 minutes into the match, Marco Lara notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Imperial FC's Mazinho Motta. Mazinho Motta was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 16 minutes into the match, Araborladit's Douglas Botelho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mazinho Motta narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Marco Lara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alan Reis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 47th minute, Christiano da Rocha left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Imperial FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Christiano da Rocha made a kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Christiano da Rocha in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Didi Mello prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Alan Reis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Didi Mello tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Alan Reis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Imperial FC defense, Douglas Botelho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mazinho Motta. The Imperial FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mazinho Motta should have stopped the shot. With 73 minutes on the clock, Elivélton Pirani commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 72 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Imperial FC! In the 75th minute there was a penalty for Araborladit. Agnaldo Aparecido stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Mazinho Motta. 4-2. When the match had gone on for 78 minutes, Jefferson Recife took a quick shot and it went in 4-3 without a chance for Didi Mello to make any attempt to save it. In the 91st minute of the match Imperial FC got a corner. Araborladit's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Diogo Medeiros ran over to the corner to take the kick. Diogo Medeiros made a great header on Imperial FC's corner, it was just that Araborladit's Didi Mello managed to reach the ball for a save. 95 minutes into the game, Douglas Botelho was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Araborladit's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Imperial FC the free kick. The supporters of Imperial FC booed when Araborladit was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Douglas Botelho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mazinho Motta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Douglas Botelho in the 96th minute of the match. Marco Lara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Araborladit were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Imperial FC for a fine match.
