Guga Salles hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Conrado Hermes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Brazabrantes's supporters rose to their feet, but Conrado Hermes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Enio Rosado breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ivai's defense didn't have a chance, in the 12th minute, when Zé Pedro Leão scored to the left of an out of position Enio Rosado, making the score, 1-0. When Pedro Augusto Cardoso fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ivai's protests and gave Pedro Augusto Cardoso a yellow card for diving instead. 20 minutes into the game, one of Ivai:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 22nd minute there was a penalty for Brazabrantes. Christian de Amorim stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Enio Rosado. 2-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Sérgio Lima managed to get in a good position for a shot. Brazabrantes's supporters rose to their feet, but Sérgio Lima was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Enio Rosado breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 27 minutes, Cleiton Dionísio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ivai and the Brazabrantes players grew even worse after the yellow card. Abelardo de Senna blasted a shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Enrique Pontes having to make a save. 46 minutes into the match, Brazabrantes's goal looked a bit too open when Abelardo de Senna came free, but Enrique Pontes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Ivai booed when Brazabrantes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sebastião Travassos didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Abelardo de Senna in the 48th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Enrique Pontes saved Brazabrantes from getting behind. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Abelardo de Senna to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Ivai booed when Brazabrantes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jardel Breckenfeld didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Abelardo de Senna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Brazabrantes's Enrique Pontes got control of the ball when Gilberto Hoffmann tried to sneak it across the goal line. Enio Rosado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Conrado Hermes in the 62nd minute of the match. Brazabrantes's Enrique Pontes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save Brazabrantes from getting a goal against them. After 70 minutes of play Ivai's Pedro Augusto Cardoso was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 71st match minute, Ivai was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedro Augusto Cardoso to maneuver through the defense. Sérgio Lima charged in rather forcefully in the 76th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sérgio Lima the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Joaquim Jacinto who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 91stth minute tested the skills of Enrique Pontes when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Brazabrantes's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
