Kids Graça's José Paulo Couto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Caetano Koehler in the 32nd minute of play. In the 33rd minute Jailson Travassos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Paulo Couto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 34 played minutes Jabota got a freekick which was hit by Ademar Alves. Nildo da Rocha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafinha Cavalcante having to interfere. Nildo da Rocha might have been able to make a better finish in the 45th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rafinha Cavalcante. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nildo da Rocha ran back to his position shaking his head. The Kids Graça players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Jabota were winning 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nildo da Rocha made a kick off. Rafinha Cavalcante made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Marcinho Cruz hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. After 65 played minutes Jabota got a freekick which was hit by Caetano Koehler. After some careless play in the Jabota defense, Delfim Velasco kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rafinha Cavalcante. The Jabota fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rafinha Cavalcante should have stopped the shot. Kids Graça's José Paulo Couto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Kids Graça from getting a goal against them. Kids Graça's defense didn't have a chance, in the 78th minute, when Norberto Braga scored to the left of an out of position José Paulo Couto, making the score, 2-2. José Paulo Couto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Caetano Koehler in the 85th minute of the match. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Jabota eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
