Palmeiras's Régis de Queirós played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Clóvis de Toledo in the 6th minute of play. 7 minutes into the game, Remy Sanderson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Palmeiras's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Os Assombrados the free kick. In the 7th match minute, Palmeiras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Remy Sanderson to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iustin Bungeanu in the 9th minute of play forced Os Assombrados's goalkeeper Dida de Amaral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Claudinho Mangueira got free with Régis de Queirós in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Os Assombrados getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Hugo Salles hit a great ball. Dida de Amaral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iustin Bungeanu in the 14th minute of play. 18 minutes into the match, Palmeiras's goal looked a bit too open when Clóvis de Toledo came free, but Régis de Queirós reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dida de Amaral showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wesley Fantini, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Dida de Amaral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iustin Bungeanu in the 25th minute of play. After 25 minutes, Iustin Bungeanu made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Os Assombrados's Dida de Amaral tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Dida de Amaral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iustin Bungeanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wesley Fantini in the 30th minute of play forced Os Assombrados's goalkeeper Dida de Amaral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Remy Sanderson made a great header on Palmeiras's corner, it was just that Os Assombrados's Dida de Amaral managed to reach the ball for a save. Dida de Amaral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iustin Bungeanu in the 41st minute of play. In the 43rd minute, Iustin Bungeanu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dida de Amaral was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. 47 minutes into the match, Wesley Fantini notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Os Assombrados's Dida de Amaral. Dida de Amaral was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Iustin Bungeanu made a kick off. Dida de Amaral made an important save on a dangerous shot by Iustin Bungeanu in the 53rd minute. Iustin Bungeanu's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 54thth minute, Dida de Amaral skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 55th minute, Remy Sanderson reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Dida de Amaral. The goal made the score 0-4. Dida de Amaral came out of the goal in the 59th minute to try and stop a shot by Palmeiras's Iustin Bungeanu. But to his dismay, Iustin Bungeanu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. Iustin Bungeanus short, quick shot in the 62ndth minute got Dida de Amaral to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Dida de Amaral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wesley Fantini in the 63rd minute of play. In the 64th minute, Iustin Bungeanu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Palmeiras fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-6. Dida de Amaral was a little too slow when Wesley Fantini got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 71st minute. The score was now 0-8. In the 75th minute Wesley Fantini shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dida de Amaral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With his leg Dida de Amaral managed to avoid a goal in the 77thth minute, when Palmeiras's Iustin Bungeanu fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 78 minutes into the match, Wesley Fantini dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Dida de Amaral, 0-9. Dida de Amaral was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Iustin Bungeanu showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-10 in the 82 minute of play. Eriberto Mendonça hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. In the 86th minute, Palmeiras's Iustin Bungeanu dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-11. Dida de Amaral was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Iustin Bungeanu showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-12 in the 89 minute of play. A collision led to Palmeiras getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Luiz Fabiano Passos hit a great ball. Régis de Queirós showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claudinho Mangueira in the 95th minute of the match. The Palmeiras supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Palmeiras would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
