João Carlos Rodrigues sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carlos Eduardo Velasco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maurício Loureiro having to interfere. Erivaldo Nogueira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felippe Varela in the 19th minute of play. After 23 minutes, Felippe Varela made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Araraquara SS's Erivaldo Nogueira tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Cristian Luengas hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Maurício Loureiro came out of the goal in the 30th minute to try and stop a shot by Araraquara SS's Carlos Eduardo Velasco. But to his dismay, Carlos Eduardo Velasco quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. In the 41st match minute, Lazio was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leonides Romano to maneuver through the defense. In the 44th minute, Abel Trevisan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the Lazio defense, Carlos Eduardo Velasco kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Maurício Loureiro. The Lazio fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Maurício Loureiro should have stopped the shot. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Felippe Varela to strike the kick off in the second half. After 51 played minutes Lazio got a freekick which was hit by Felippe Varela. In the 57th minute, Carlos Eduardo Velasco ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Maurício Loureiro was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. Araraquara SS's João Carlos Rodrigues quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Leonides Romano, made in the 65th minute of the game. 66 minutes into the game, Nilmar Dracena was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Araraquara SS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lazio the free kick. After a defensive mix-up in Lazio's zone, Carlos Eduardo Velasco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Maurício Loureiro came out of the goal and Carlos Eduardo Velasco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Maurício Loureiro made a fantastic save in the 81st minute, when Nilmar Dracena sent off a good shot on target. Matheus Quadros charged in rather forcefully in the 84th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Matheus Quadros the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 84th minute, Matheus Quadros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Abel Trevisan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Maurício Loureiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Geovanni Guerra in the 90th minute of the match. Araraquara SS's Erivaldo Nogueira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ademir Berger in the 96th minute of play. The Lazio fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Araraquara SS were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
