In the 28th minute, Marcelinho de Salles got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 32nd minute, Marcelinho de Salles left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Itajaí Football Club fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Cristóvão Carioca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcelinho de Salles in the 34th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 37 minutes, Marcelinho de Salles put it in 0-4 from a short distance just to the right of Cristóvão Carioca. The audience was convinced that Marcelinho de Salles's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cristóvão Carioca was relentless in the 40th minute of the game. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Douglas Cosme to make the kick off. Leonardo Varela's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cristóvão Carioca read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 60th minute of play. Itajaí Football Club's Marcelinho de Salles got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, Pirapitingui SC's Cristóvão Carioca got control of the ball when Marcelinho de Salles tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Pirapitingui SC getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Cristiano Magalhães hit a great ball. Marcelinho de Salles who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 90thth minute tested the skills of Cristóvão Carioca when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Marcelinho de Salles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Pirapitingui SC's Cristiano Magalhães got a free kick in the 97th minute.
