Belmiro Alvarenga's late challenge caught a Athletis PR's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Belmiro Alvarenga helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Athletis PR booed when Thunder Palmeiras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Belmiro Alvarenga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Adriano Britto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marco de Moraes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 6 minutes into the game, Genílson Leme cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Adriano Britto was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Thunder Palmeiras's Adriano Britto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marco de Moraes in the 8th minute of play. 9 minutes into the game, Athletis PR's Genílson Leme nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Adriano Britto made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Thunder Palmeiras's Adriano Britto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Genílson Leme in the 13th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Thunder Palmeiras's zone, Genílson Leme stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adriano Britto came out of the goal and Genílson Leme tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Athletis PR's Anísio Valladares got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 26th match minute, Athletis PR was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Silvério Fernandez to maneuver through the defense. When Irinel Codrea fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Thunder Palmeiras's protests and gave Irinel Codrea a yellow card for diving instead. After some careless play in the Thunder Palmeiras defense, Genílson Leme kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Adriano Britto. The Thunder Palmeiras fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Adriano Britto should have stopped the shot. Marco de Moraes might have been able to make a better finish in the 31st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Adriano Britto. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marco de Moraes ran back to his position shaking his head. Adriano Britto didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Silvério Fernandez went, in the 32nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. Adriano Britto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marco de Moraes, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Adriano Britto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marco de Moraes's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. Silvério Fernandez took the ball and in the 43 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Adriano Britto. Adriano Britto dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-5. 45 minutes into the match, Thunder Palmeiras's goal looked a bit too open when Silvério Fernandez came free, but Adriano Britto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-5 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Irinel Codrea made a kick off. Adriano Britto was out of position in the 50 minute of play, and Marco de Moraes capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Marco de Moraes really showed his touch with that goal: 0-6. In the 58th match minute, Thunder Palmeiras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adriano Pinho to maneuver through the defense. After 59 played minutes Thunder Palmeiras got a freekick which was hit by Adriano Pinho. In the 60th minute, Silvério Fernandez sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Thunder Palmeiras's Adriano Britto didn't even have to move. Adriano Britto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marco de Moraes in the 62nd minute of play. The score was now 0-8. 84 minutes into the game, Silvério Fernandez recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Adriano Britto. Silvério Fernandez showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-9. After some careless play in the Thunder Palmeiras defense, Silvério Fernandez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Adriano Britto. The Thunder Palmeiras fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Adriano Britto should have stopped the shot. Adriano Britto was out of position in the 92 minute of play, and Genílson Leme capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Genílson Leme really showed his touch with that goal: 0-11. Athletis PR played a much better game than Thunder Palmeiras and deserved their victory. The Thunder Palmeiras players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
