After taking down the ball on Galo do Cerrado's corner Severino Novaes fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Jardel Reis quite easily take care of the ball. Almantas Plungys received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Jardel Reis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The throw-in from Kléberson Xavier in the 35th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Galo do Cerrado's Claudinho Sá. Wesley Richard hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. 40 minutes into the match, Galo do Cerrado's goalkeeper Vicente Barbosa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jeremias Andrade. 42 minutes into the match, Beto dos Santos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jardel Reis. Catadão's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Beto dos Santos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Galo do Cerrado's Vicente Barbosa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zafran Chien-Kwan in the 45th minute of play. Sebastian Drewitz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After the first half Galo do Cerrado were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
