Palavicini's Leon Osmundo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Humberto Cordarin in the 11th minute of play. Lino Acevedo kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. If Dionisio Reno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 20 minutes into the match, Piamonte's goal looked a bit too open when Dionisio Reno came free, but Isaias Valery reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Domingo Fero recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 26th minute Humberto Cordarin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leon Osmundo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Emanuel Raulo scored 0-1 in the 32nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Leon Osmundo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Piamonte's Isaias Valery proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save Piamonte from getting a goal against them. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Domingo Fero stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Placido Barros came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Piamonte fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Placido Barros couldn't finish the play. 53 minutes into the game, Palavicini's Dionisio Reno nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Isaias Valery made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. 59 minutes into the game, Humberto Cordarin recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Leon Osmundo. Humberto Cordarin showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-2. Dionisio Reno received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Isaias Valery tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dionisio Reno recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Humberto Cordarin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leon Osmundo having to interfere. 80 minutes into the match, Piamonte's goal looked a bit too open when Domingo Fero came free, but Isaias Valery reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 81 minutes into the game, Palavicini's Dionisio Reno nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Isaias Valery made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. The audience was convinced that Domingo Fero's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Isaias Valery was relentless in the 85th minute of the game. In the 90th minute of the match Abel Gaztea sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Isaias Valery skillfully saved the ball. Isaias Valery made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dionisio Reno in the 94th minute of play. Piamonte were furious when Silvestre Ibañez was red carded, 96 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 95th minute, one of Piamonte:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Piamonte. Isaias Valery had in the 98thth minute some difficulties stopping Concetto Carafa's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Piamonte's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
