After some careless play in the Los Perdedores defense, Melquiades Roderigo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Zeledon Pinto. The Los Perdedores fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zeledon Pinto should have stopped the shot. Hipolito Orlan was shown his second yellow card after 41 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. 40 minutes into the game, one of Los Perdedores:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Basilio Firmin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ruperto Nayely's shot from short distance in the 45th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Melquiades Roderigo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Mendoza Futbol Club's Rodolfo Feo got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Rodolfo Feo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Zeledon Pinto made a huge save. After 54 minutes, Bartolo Bonifaco mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mendoza Futbol Club and the Los Perdedores players grew even worse after the yellow card. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ruperto Nayely in the 65th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Basilio Firmin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Bartolo Bonifaco managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mendoza Futbol Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Bartolo Bonifaco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zeledon Pinto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Bartolo Bonifaco managed to get in a good position for a shot. Zeledon Pinto came out of the goal and Melquiades Roderigo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
