Humberto Tallia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Behzat Dadaloğlu made a huge save. Behzat Dadaloğlu was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ricardo Azeari showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 14 minute of play. Esteban Cambiasso hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. In the 21st minute, one of AS Roma:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for AS Roma. AS Roma:s Behzat Dadaloğlu showed great skill when he stopped Arnaldo Ishmael:s penalty.
