After 2 played minutes Chimpay got a freekick which was hit by German Maurin. If Luisito Suero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A hard shot 9 in the game by Roque Rubio from a close distance when the talented Dionisio Justin managed to make a qualified save. Chimpay's players were relieved. Adan Aballe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eustacio Pirmin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Cafayete getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Roque Rubio hit a great ball. After 18 played minutes Cafayete got a freekick which was hit by Maximiliano Karmel. In the 22nd minute, Baldomero Hegoi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 23rd minute of the match Lino Gizon shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Adan Aballe showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After some careless play in the Cafayete defense, Rigoberto Bidun kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Adan Aballe. The Cafayete fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Adan Aballe should have stopped the shot. Adan Aballe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eustacio Pirmin in the 30th minute of play. In the 32nd minute, Roque Rubio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dionisio Justin was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. In the 36th minute Luisito Suero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dionisio Justin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dionisio Justin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luisito Suero, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Eustacio Pirmin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 43 minutes into the match, Cafayete's goal looked a bit too open when Eustacio Pirmin came free, but Adan Aballe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Rigoberto Bidun had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Rigoberto Bidun got free with Adan Aballe in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 55 minutes into the match, Roque Rubio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dionisio Justin. Chimpay's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Roque Rubio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luisito Suero in the 61st minute of play forced Chimpay's goalkeeper Dionisio Justin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Roque Rubio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luisito Suero in the 71st minute of play forced Chimpay's goalkeeper Dionisio Justin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luisito Suero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dionisio Justin having to interfere. Dionisio Justin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roque Rubio in the 75th minute of the match. In the 78th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cafayete's goalkeeper Adan Aballe, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 79th minute, Luisito Suero left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cafayete fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. Roque Rubio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dionisio Justin having to interfere. Adan Aballe came out of the goal in the 86th minute to try and stop a shot by Chimpay's Rigoberto Bidun. But to his dismay, Rigoberto Bidun quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. Luisito Suero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Chimpay booed when Cafayete was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomas Rexino didn't get a good kick on the ball.
