Urbano Frederik came out of the goal and Elpidio Llorian tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Elpidio Llorian's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Urbano Frederik was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. If Elpidio Llorian had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonas Tonete's late challenge caught a NEW YORK RED BULL's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jonas Tonete helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Almagro getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Jonas Tonete hit a great ball. Elpidio Llorian took the ball and in the 31 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Urbano Frederik. Urbano Frederik dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 40 minutes into the match, Elpidio Llorian had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Urbano Frederik. NEW YORK RED BULL's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Elpidio Llorian was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. In the 44th minute, Jonas Tonete hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Elpidio Llorian in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Urbano Frederik prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jonas Tonete hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. In the 58th minute, Dante Remigio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Augusto Rutenio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Urbano Frederik having to interfere. Augusto Rutenio's late challenge caught a NEW YORK RED BULL's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Augusto Rutenio helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Almagro's Augusto Rutenio got a free kick in the 62nd minute. In the 65th match minute, Almagro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Victorio Efraim to maneuver through the defense. Celedonio Benitez took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 66th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Oliver Kahn. Almagro's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 70th match minute, Almagro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonas Tonete to maneuver through the defense. Leonel Benvide sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, NEW YORK RED BULL's Urbano Frederik got control of the ball when Elpidio Llorian tried to sneak it across the goal line. Celedonio Benitez kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. If Elpidio Llorian had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. A collision led to Almagro getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Augusto Rutenio hit a great ball. When the match was over Almagro could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than NEW YORK RED BULL throughout the match.
