Ovidio Izel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rene Guter, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. If Placido Gartxot had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 46 minutes into the match, Tinajeros's Lorenzo Austin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Venancio Atauri narrowly saved just below the crossbar. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Miguel Jatsu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Venancio Atauri took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lino Remir, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 53 minutes into the match, Miguel Jatsu notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Canquel's Venancio Atauri. Venancio Atauri was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Dimitris Mazarakis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Venancio Atauri read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 82nd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Placido Gartxot managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tinajeros's supporters rose to their feet, but Placido Gartxot was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Venancio Atauri breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lino Remir sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Canquel's Edelmiro Pasqual got a free kick in the 86th minute. Venancio Atauri took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Placido Gartxot, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Placido Gartxot managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tinajeros's supporters rose to their feet, but Placido Gartxot was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Venancio Atauri breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 95th minute Placido Gartxot shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Venancio Atauri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Tinajeros had played much better football throughout.
