A collision led to Grana getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Fernan Baristo hit a great ball. Leandro Romagnoli received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Honorio Berdoi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 23rd minute, Abel Mundo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 24th minute of the match Anier Cordarin shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Emiliano Marino showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 27th minute, Grana's Nemesio Cordero dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. 30 minutes into the match, Grana's goal looked a bit too open when Leandro Romagnoli came free, but Honorio Berdoi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 33 minutes into the game, Aldo Gartzen cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Emiliano Marino was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Leo Sadurni sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Honorio Berdoi didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Leandro Romagnoli went, in the 42nd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-2 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nemesio Cordero was the one to do the kick off. Honorio Berdoi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leandro Romagnoli, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Leo Sadurni received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Honorio Berdoi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Honorio Berdoi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leandro Romagnoli, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 67 minutes, Leandro Romagnoli managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gimnasia y Tiro de Salta's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leandro Romagnoli was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Honorio Berdoi made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Igor Raitin sent off a good shot on target. Leo Sadurni struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Honorio Berdoi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gimnasia y Tiro de Salta. Grana's Honorio Berdoi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leandro Romagnoli in the 72nd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Grana's zone, Igor Raitin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Honorio Berdoi came out of the goal and Igor Raitin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fernando Fe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Honorio Berdoi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Igor Raitin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Grana's Honorio Berdoi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leandro Romagnoli in the 79th minute of play. Leo Sadurni recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Igor Raitin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 92 minutes into the match, Aldo Gartzen notched a goal, 4-3, to the right of Gimnasia y Tiro de Salta's Emiliano Marino. Emiliano Marino was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Many of Gimnasia y Tiro de Salta's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Gimnasia y Tiro de Salta may have spent more time on the ball, but Grana were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
