Igor Raitin kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. In the 7th minute Jorg Eickhoff shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emiliano Marino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 8 minutes into the match, Gimnasia y Tiro de Salta's goal looked a bit too open when Pastor Cuartio came free, but Emiliano Marino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 11 minutes into the match, Pastor Cuartio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Emiliano Marino. Gimnasia y Tiro de Salta's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Pastor Cuartio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After 13 played minutes Gimnasia y Tiro de Salta got a freekick which was hit by Leandro Romagnoli. 16 minutes into the match, Gimnasia y Tiro de Salta's goal looked a bit too open when Eloy Muno came free, but Emiliano Marino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Gimnasia y Tiro de Salta's zone, Jorg Eickhoff stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emiliano Marino came out of the goal and Jorg Eickhoff tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Emiliano Marino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pastor Cuartio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Gimnasia y Tiro de Salta defense, Eloy Muno kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Emiliano Marino. The Gimnasia y Tiro de Salta fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Emiliano Marino should have stopped the shot. Jorg Eickhoff scored 0-3 in the 29th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Emiliano Marino, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 32 minutes into the match, Gimnasia y Tiro de Salta's goal looked a bit too open when Pastor Cuartio came free, but Emiliano Marino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gimnasia y Tiro de Salta's Emiliano Marino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pastor Cuartio in the 37th minute of play. Jacinto Cutberto kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Emiliano Marino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jorg Eickhoff, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Igor Raitin might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rolando Bela. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Igor Raitin ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jorg Eickhoff in the 45th minute of play forced Gimnasia y Tiro de Salta's goalkeeper Emiliano Marino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-5.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Igor Raitin to make the kick off. Emiliano Marino made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jorg Eickhoff in the 57th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pastor Cuartio got free with Emiliano Marino in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 59th minute, Leo Sadurni hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gimnasia y Tiro de Salta's Emiliano Marino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eloy Muno in the 61st minute of play. Jorg Eickhoff kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. With a little luck, Gimnasia y Tiro de Salta's Emiliano Marino got control of the ball when Jorg Eickhoff tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 77th minute Eugenio Hanni shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emiliano Marino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Emiliano Marino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zdzislaw Wielgopolski in the 84th minute of the match. Zdzislaw Wielgopolski received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Emiliano Marino came out and tried to block the shot, but Zdzislaw Wielgopolski slotted it home off the left post making it 0-7 in the 89th minute. A collision led to Ron AFC getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Zdzislaw Wielgopolski hit a great ball. Igor Raitin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Gimnasia y Tiro de Salta fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ron AFC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
