Saturnino Gonzales was out of position in the 23 minute of play, and Edgard Xabel capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Edgard Xabel really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. Leo Nahia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Baldomero Teofilio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leo Nahia in the 32nd minute of the match. After 44 minutes, Lisandro Sol mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the WATUSI and the Liverpool FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. If Humberto Rivero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rene Iago fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Saturnino Gonzales having to interfere. The Liverpool FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Liverpool FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
