The audience thought a goal was coming when Romulo Burutzagi got free with Abelardo Hermelando in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 19 minutes into the match, Godfredo Medero had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Arano. El Obrero F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Godfredo Medero was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 26thth minute of the game Godfredo Medero who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but El Obrero F.C.'s Benito Arano was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 30 played minutes El Obrero F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Gerardo Remigio. Jairo Rito sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Pastor Oliverio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Benito Arano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Godfredo Medero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Arano having to interfere. Godofredo Franco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Baldomiro Quilino to make the kick off. Abelardo Hermelando was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. In the 66th minute, Godofredo Franco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to El Obrero F.C. getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Eduardo Inguma hit a great ball. When Javier Kiliz fell near the penalty area in the 74th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Russell FC's protests and gave Javier Kiliz a yellow card for diving instead. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 73rd minute of the game. One of Russell FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of El Obrero F.C.:s goal. Benito Arano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pastor Oliverio, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. 79 minutes into the match, Godfredo Medero notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of El Obrero F.C.'s Benito Arano. Benito Arano was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Godfredo Medero did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-4 to the left of a surprised Benito Arano 83 minutes into the match. The supporters of Russell FC booed when El Obrero F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Enrique Rufio didn't get a good kick on the ball. 89 minutes into the match, Godfredo Medero had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Arano. El Obrero F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Godfredo Medero was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-5. Godfredo Medero had several of the El Obrero F.C.'s defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 92 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-6 score and a disappointed Benito Arano as he didn't even see the shot coming. In the 98th minute, Godfredo Medero fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Benito Arano, passed just outside the right post. Russell FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
