The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Patricio Rey reached it. A collision led to Curacó AFC getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Armando Baristo hit a great ball. 22 minutes into the match, Patricio Rey's goal looked a bit too open when Osvaldo Monte came free, but Maximo Merexildo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Anacleto Gaueko showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erubiel Udalaitz, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Diego Gabirel got free with Anacleto Gaueko in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 57th minute Benedicto Restu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maximo Merexildo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Diego Gabirel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Anacleto Gaueko made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erubiel Udalaitz in the 62nd minute of play. In the 63rd minute, Armando Baristo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Patricio Rey's Leo Teyo got a free kick in the 66th minute. Curacó AFC's Benedicto Restu got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 70th minute, Osvaldo Monte got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Benedicto Restu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Maximo Merexildo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Osvaldo Monte's shot from short distance in the 76th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Osvaldo Monte in the 80th minute of play forced Patricio Rey's goalkeeper Maximo Merexildo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Maximo Merexildo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benedicto Restu in the 82nd minute of play. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Maximo Merexildo prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
