But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benito Jakobe couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eloy Cordearo during the 7th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 7 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for El sabor del encuentro! Dante Ted came free with the goalkeeper in the 10th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Seppe Schol could save by the left post. Javier Mitxel came out of the goal in the 12th minute to try and stop a shot by River Santa Fe's Ovidio Jokin. But to his dismay, Ovidio Jokin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 18 minutes into the game, Delmar Blasi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. River Santa Fe's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave El sabor del encuentro the free kick. In the 18th minute, Delmar Blasi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 22nd minute, Ovidio Jokin ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Javier Mitxel was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. After some careless play in the El sabor del encuentro defense, Ovidio Jokin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Javier Mitxel. The El sabor del encuentro fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Javier Mitxel should have stopped the shot. Jeremias Giraldo kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Natalio Grabiel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Javier Mitxel having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Ovidio Jokin managed to get in a good position for a shot. River Santa Fe's supporters rose to their feet, but Ovidio Jokin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Javier Mitxel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Javier Mitxel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ovidio Jokin's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. Javier Mitxel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ovidio Jokin in the 39th minute of the match. 43 minutes into the match, River Santa Fe's Ovidio Jokin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Javier Mitxel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ovidio Jokin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Javier Mitxel having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

58 minutes into the match, El sabor del encuentro's goal looked a bit too open when Gualterio Ostadar came free, but Javier Mitxel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 60 minutes, Ovidio Jokin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. River Santa Fe's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ovidio Jokin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Javier Mitxel stood somewhat misplaced when Natalio Grabiel came free in front of goal and shot 0-4 to the left of him in the 68 minute. Natalio Grabiel did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-6 to the left of a surprised Javier Mitxel 77 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Natalio Grabiel kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Javier Mitxel. That made the score 0-7 in the 83 minute of play. Ovidio Jokin blasted a shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Javier Mitxel having to make a save. With a little luck, El sabor del encuentro's Javier Mitxel got control of the ball when Ovidio Jokin tried to sneak it across the goal line. El sabor del encuentro's Javier Mitxel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Natalio Grabiel in the 96th minute of play. River Santa Fe played a much better game than El sabor del encuentro and deserved their victory. The El sabor del encuentro players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
