The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Luis Alberto Neyret hit a great ball. If Edvard Soned had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Diego Jerico made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Edvard Soned sent off a good shot on target. Nicanor Mikelar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Edvard Soned had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ariel Fc Juniors's Carmelo Eleder shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 47th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Diego Jerico but with some difficulty. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

In the 62nd minute, Rodolfo Ixaka left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Club Mercedes fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. 65 minutes in the game, Nicanor Mikelar fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Aldo Eguen having to interfere. With a little luck, Ariel Fc Juniors's Aldo Eguen got control of the ball when Octavio Raitin tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ramon Otoniel kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. Ramon Otoniel hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Diego Jerico made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edvard Soned in the 73rd minute of play. 76 minutes into the match, Ariel Fc Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Nicanor Mikelar came free, but Aldo Eguen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aldo Eguen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rodolfo Ixaka in the 78th minute. Aldo Eguen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicanor Mikelar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Casimiro Estavan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aldo Eguen having to make a save. Ariel Fc Juniors made a substitution. Gonzalo Laurentzi replaced Jacobo Firmo. Ariel Fc Juniors's Teo Isadore was substituted for Abelardo Gartzea. Edvard Soned blasted a shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Diego Jerico having to make a save. Chants of Club Mercedes echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Ariel Fc Juniors had held the ball for most of the match.
