La Banda Roja's Elias Laurendi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Humberto Iturri in the 31st minute of play. Gogo Pinto was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 67 minutes into the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 66th minute of the game. One of La Banda Roja:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Carrizalito:s goal. La Banda Roja's Elias Laurendi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save La Banda Roja from getting a goal against them. When the match clock showed 75 minutes, the score became 5-1 when Kevin Ross sped through Carrizalito's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Augusto Jaunti. La Banda Roja's Kevin Ross got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Jonathan Breckenfeld had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. José Paulo de Barros recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Kevin Ross blasted a shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Augusto Jaunti having to make a save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Humberto Iturri got free with Elias Laurendi in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Augusto Jaunti showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kevin Ross, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute.
