Osvaldo Platon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pascual Petri having to interfere. 38 minutes into the match, Reynaldo Rik had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luis Nevada. Solís's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Reynaldo Rik was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rodolfo Clementi made a kick off. Luis Nevada showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rodolfo Clementi, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute.
