Evaristo Iraido recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nunez Chico fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lázaro Ferran having to interfere. In the 28th minute Sebastian Tabor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Patricio Jatsu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 29 minutes, Nicolas Ritchie managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tucumán's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nicolas Ritchie was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 32 minutes into the match, Deportivo Merlo's goalkeeper Lázaro Ferran had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nunez Chico. In the 35th minute, Evaristo Iraido reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Lázaro Ferran. The goal made the score 1-0. Nunez Chico's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lázaro Ferran read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. Jorge Esteves's late challenge caught a Tucumán's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jorge Esteves helped the player get up and apologised. After 40 played minutes Deportivo Merlo got a freekick which was hit by Jorge Esteves. Nunez Chico could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Lázaro Ferran made a huge save.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nicolas Ritchie was the one to do the kick off. Evaristo Iraido's late challenge caught a Deportivo Merlo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Patricio Jatsu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Enrique Quadros in the 73rd minute of the match. 76 minutes into the match, Evaristo Iraido notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Deportivo Merlo's Lázaro Ferran. Lázaro Ferran was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Lázaro Ferran showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nunez Chico in the 84th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Deportivo Merlo's Jim Robertson got a free kick in the 84th minute. Deportivo Merlo's Lázaro Ferran played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nunez Chico in the 88th minute of play. Adan Arnau kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Lázaro Ferran took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicolas Ritchie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 92nd match minute, Deportivo Merlo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jorge Esteves to maneuver through the defense. When the referee ended the match the Tucumán players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
