The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Clemente Erasto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Defensores de Caballito defense, Angelino Quintan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Clemente Erasto. The Defensores de Caballito fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Clemente Erasto should have stopped the shot. 25 minutes into the game, Crusaiders's Angelino Quintan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Clemente Erasto made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Angelino Quintan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 30 minutes into the game, Aldo Kemen cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Clemente Erasto was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 36th minute, Aldo Kemen left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Crusaiders fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. Aldo Kemen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Crusaiders's Angelino Quintan got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After the first half Crusaiders were leading 0-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The Crusaiders fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-6. Clemente Erasto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aldo Kemen in the 61st minute of the match. When Angelino Quintan came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Crusaiders fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Angelino Quintan couldn't finish the play. Clemente Erasto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aldo Kemen, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Crusaiders's Aldo Kemen slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Clemente Erasto. That made the score 0-7 after 72 minutes of play. When Aldo Kemen came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Crusaiders fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aldo Kemen couldn't finish the play. 78 minutes into the game, Crusaiders's Angelino Quintan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Clemente Erasto made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-8. Zacarias Fertus struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Clemente Erasto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Crusaiders. After 89 played minutes Defensores de Caballito got a freekick which was hit by Manuel Farias. Clemente Erasto was a little too slow when Aldo Kemen got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 91st minute. The score was now 0-9. Clemente Erasto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Angelino Quintan in the 96th minute of play. When the match was over Crusaiders could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Defensores de Caballito throughout the match.
