In the 48th match minute, Carrizal AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benedicto Jordy to maneuver through the defense. In the 49th minute, Benigno Txurio sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Carrizal AFC's Ivan Tello didn't even have to move. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gonzalo Gomesano to make the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eustacio Ezkerra in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ivan Tello saved Carrizal AFC from getting behind. Ivan Tello didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Darwin. Gonzalo Gomesano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Ivan Tello tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Darwin walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
