In the 20th minute Hipolito Ayala shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Celestino Balesio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 21st minute, Hipolito Ayala made a precise shot to the right of Celestino Balesio. Trejos's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. In the 24th minute Celestino Oliveiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Damian Eron saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Silvio Lorien in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Celestino Balesio saved Trejos from getting behind. Celestino Oliveiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Trejos's zone, Hipolito Ayala stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Celestino Balesio came out of the goal and Hipolito Ayala tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paolo Romano in the 39th minute of play forced Pontevedra's goalkeeper Damian Eron to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Celestino Balesio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hipolito Ayala, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Celestino Oliveiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Damian Eron having to interfere. Paolo Romano struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Damian Eron didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Trejos. An unexpectedly hard shot by Celestino Oliveiro in the 47th minute of play forced Pontevedra's goalkeeper Damian Eron to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hipolito Ayala was the one to do the kick off. Mateo Cai's late challenge caught a Pontevedra's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mateo Cai helped the player get up and apologised. Mateo Cai hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. 53 minutes into the game, Baltasar Formerio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Trejos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pontevedra the free kick. In the 58th minute, Paolo Romano left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Trejos fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. Guaberto Gergori hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. In the 64th minute Trejos were awarded a corner. Oscar Socorro went to the cornerflag to take it. It was a well-played corner which Teodosio Faron managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Pontevedra's Damian Eron played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Celestino Oliveiro in the 69th minute of play. Silvio Lorien sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Celestino Oliveiro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Damian Eron was relentless in the 79th minute of the game. Baltasar Formerio was shown his second yellow card after 80 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Baltasar Formerio kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Hipolito Ayala was extremely unlucky when he, in the 84th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Trejos's Paolo Romano got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Damian Eron showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paolo Romano in the 88th minute of the match. The supporters of Trejos booed when Pontevedra was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Freddy Bautista didn't get a good kick on the ball. Damian Eron took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paolo Romano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 94th minute Hipolito Ayala shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Celestino Balesio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Trejos were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
