An unexpectedly hard shot by Eustaquio Berto in the 19th minute of play forced Devoto's goalkeeper Saul Bidari to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Devoto's Valentin Lizbeth in the 22nd minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Astor Perfecto was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Gualeguay AFC through an amazing save. Saul Bidari made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eustaquio Berto in the 27th minute of play. Venancio Birjaio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Saul Bidari having to interfere. Devoto's Saul Bidari played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Venancio Birjaio in the 31st minute of play. Venancio Birjaio's late challenge caught a Devoto's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Venancio Birjaio helped the player get up and apologised. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Valentin Lizbeth to make the kick off. When the match clock showed 54 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Eustaquio Berto sped through Devoto's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Saul Bidari. A collision led to Devoto getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Bernardo Precioso hit a great ball. Astor Perfecto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valentin Lizbeth, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Venancio Birjaio struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Saul Bidari didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gualeguay AFC. If Angelo Lohitzun had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Valentin Lizbeth had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gualeguay AFC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
