BYF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rene Argi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 12 minutes into the game, one of franco canadience:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The goalkeeper, Filomeno Guillem, was totally fooled by BYF's Freddy Etxatxu, who 14 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. In the 19th minute, Freddy Etxatxu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Freddy Etxatxu kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. If Rene Argi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, franco canadience's Filomeno Guillem got control of the ball when Rene Argi tried to sneak it across the goal line. BYF's Ramon Bero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Flavio Urtun in the 42nd minute of play. Ramon Bero stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jorge Figueroa's shot from short distance in the 46th minute. Rene Argi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 48th minute of the match, but Filomeno Guillem made a huge save. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Santiago Inautzi to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, BYF's Freddy Etxatxu got a free kick in the 53rd minute. 55 minutes into the match, BYF's goal looked a bit too open when Jorge Figueroa came free, but Ramon Bero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 55th match minute, BYF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cayetano Gorosti to maneuver through the defense. Ramon Bero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jorge Figueroa in the 62nd minute of the match. After 65 played minutes BYF got a freekick which was hit by Claudio Clodio. BYF's Santiago Inautzi got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Flavio Urtun struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Ramon Bero didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for franco canadience.
