Tiburcio Torres might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Osvaldo Guifre. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Osvaldo Guifre took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Angelino Sabino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eloy Jokin might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Osvaldo Guifre. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eloy Jokin ran back to his position shaking his head. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Bolívar FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
