The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Cosme Manex had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpected shot in the 6th minute by Luciano Heriberto got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. When the match had gone on for 6 minutes, Conrado Gilabert took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Arnulfo Lehoi to make any attempt to save it. Arnulfo Lehoi was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Efrain Victoro. 11 minutes into the match, Magdalena's goal looked a bit too open when Filomeno Theobald came free, but Eusebio Nevada reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Chañar's Filomeno Theobald got a free kick in the 15th minute. Arnulfo Lehoi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Conrado Gilabert in the 17th minute of play. The supporters of Magdalena booed when Chañar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tobias Leizarraga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Conrado Gilabert sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Esteban Ospin came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Chañar fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Esteban Ospin couldn't finish the play. 37 minutes into the game, Chañar's Filomeno Theobald nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Eusebio Nevada made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. If Esteban Ospin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Tobias Leizarraga struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Eusebio Nevada didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chañar. Eusebio Nevada showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Orlando Urtats in the 46th minute of the match.

The wind increased when Conrado Gilabert made the kick off in the second half. Pascual Pepillo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnulfo Lehoi having to interfere. When the match clock showed 64 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Conrado Gilabert sped through Chañar's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Arnulfo Lehoi. Chañar's Arnulfo Lehoi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luciano Heriberto in the 70th minute of play. Luciano Heriberto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arnulfo Lehoi didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Conrado Gilabert went, in the 91st minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. Arnulfo Lehoi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luciano Heriberto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Magdalena had won after a very even match.
