Omar Matai took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sergio Ospin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sergio Ospin might have been able to make a better finish in the 48th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Omar Matai. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sergio Ospin ran back to his position shaking his head. After the first half Chivilcoy FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Placido Salomon made a kick off. With a little luck, Villanueva's Omar Matai got control of the ball when Edgardo Donio tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee showed Edgardo Donio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Chivilcoy FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
