Ramon Goizeder ran back to his position shaking his head. Eustaquio Jaume made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bruno Urtsin in the 19th minute of play. Tomás Che struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Eustaquio Jaume didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Independiente. Bruno Urtsin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Eustaquio Jaume tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 36th minute, Virgilio Claris hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With his leg Arsenio Koldobika managed to avoid a goal in the 37thth minute, when Cieneguita FC's Antonio Martinez fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Tomás Che sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tomás Che received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Eustaquio Jaume tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rolando Garaona kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ramon Goizeder stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Robustiano Eztebe fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Independiente's protests and gave Robustiano Eztebe a yellow card for diving instead. Robustiano Eztebe hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. If Antonio Martinez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Tomás Che managed to get in a good position for a shot. Independiente's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomás Che was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eustaquio Jaume breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 58 played minutes, Independiente's Cipriano Ourente shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Eustaquio Jaume came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Independiente reached it. Tomás Che might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eustaquio Jaume. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomás Che ran back to his position shaking his head. Independiente's Arsenio Koldobika played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antonio Martinez in the 66th minute of play. Antonio Martinez took the ball and in the 69 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Arsenio Koldobika. Arsenio Koldobika dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. In the 77th minute Ramon Goizeder shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arsenio Koldobika saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tomás Che got free with Eustaquio Jaume in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 85 minutes, Ramon Goizeder managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cieneguita FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ramon Goizeder was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Antonio Martinez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 94th minute, Tomás Che left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Independiente fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. For all the effort they put into the match, the Independiente players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Cieneguita FC.
