The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Arturo Favila ran back to his position shaking his head. When Benito Resto came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Spartak de Moscú fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benito Resto couldn't finish the play. Eustaquio Gorbea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Felipe Orlondon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eustaquio Gorbea, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. A hard shot 91 in the game by Albano Lehior from a close distance when the talented Dario Romero managed to make a qualified save. Covunco's players were relieved. After a defensive mix-up in Spartak de Moscú's zone, Eustaquio Gorbea stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Felipe Orlondon came out of the goal and Eustaquio Gorbea tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
