After the first half Defensores de Belgrano were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The referee showed Cecilio Bertol the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Defensores de Belgrano made a substitution. Justo Romero replaced Albino Rioja. With a little luck, Cefalier F.C.'s Alejandro Dolfo got control of the ball when Danilo Lope tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rogelio Ceandro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alejandro Dolfo having to interfere. 96 minutes into the match, Defensores de Belgrano's goal looked a bit too open when Benito Sotero came free, but Desiderio Escobar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match was over Defensores de Belgrano could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Cefalier F.C. throughout the match.
