After 10 minutes of play, Barrio 33's Lee Létourneau made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Basilio Lizardi was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Lee Létourneau had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Bartolito FC defense, Lee Létourneau kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Basilio Lizardi. The Bartolito FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Basilio Lizardi should have stopped the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Benigno Ederono during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Barrio 33 booed when Bartolito FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benigno Ederono didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Lee Létourneau had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lee Létourneau might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Basilio Lizardi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lee Létourneau ran back to his position shaking his head. Basilio Lizardi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lee Létourneau in the 25th minute of the match. After 34 played minutes Bartolito FC got a freekick which was hit by Placido Firmo. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Lee Létourneau managed to get in a good position for a shot. Barrio 33's supporters rose to their feet, but Lee Létourneau was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Basilio Lizardi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lee Létourneau in the 35th minute of play forced Bartolito FC's goalkeeper Basilio Lizardi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Julio Maiorga got free with Daniel Hernando in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 39 minutes into the game, Lee Létourneau cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Basilio Lizardi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 56th minute, Samuel Erruki made a precise shot to the right of Basilio Lizardi. Bartolito FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-5. Joel Bernal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. In the 88thth minute of the game Lee Létourneau who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bartolito FC's Basilio Lizardi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Basilio Lizardi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lee Létourneau, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. The audience was convinced that Lee Létourneau's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Basilio Lizardi was relentless in the 92nd minute of the game. Joel Bernal's late challenge caught a Bartolito FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Joel Bernal helped the player get up and apologised. Barrio 33's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
