Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

If Mario Isusko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Juan Urtats got free with Gualterio Gaztea in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A hard shot by Julio Giraldo from long distance, 60 minutes into the match, got Gualterio Gaztea's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. When Feliciano Salvatore came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Argentino de Buenos Aires fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Feliciano Salvatore couldn't finish the play. 74 minutes into the match, Argentino de Buenos Aires's goal looked a bit too open when Juan Urtats came free, but Gualterio Gaztea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Argentino de Buenos Aires's Gualterio Gaztea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pablo Lucian in the 92nd minute of play. Gualterio Gaztea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pablo Lucian, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Argentino de Buenos Aires walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
