Carlos Alberto Rodríguez came out of the goal and Hermengildo Maidana tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Cipriano Lugo fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Neuquén's protests and gave Cipriano Lugo a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Neuquén's Cipriano Lugo got a free kick in the 30th minute. Tadeo Iaki showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Antonio Sazon in the 44th minute of the match. Carlos Alberto Rodríguez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jeronimo Cordearo in the 46th minute of play. When Rafael Aguilera fell near the penalty area in the 48th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Deportivo Saca Chispas's protests and gave Rafael Aguilera a yellow card for diving instead. After 48 played minutes Deportivo Saca Chispas got a freekick which was hit by Rafael Aguilera.

In the 57th minute, Hermengildo Maidana made a precise shot to the right of Carlos Alberto Rodríguez. Deportivo Saca Chispas's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Neuquén's Hermengildo Maidana got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tadeo Iaki tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 69 minutes, Jeronimo Cordearo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Neuquén and the Deportivo Saca Chispas players grew even worse after the yellow card. Neuquén's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hermengildo Maidana was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Eustaquio Serapio was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 95 minutes had been played. In the 95th minute, Eustaquio Serapio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Deportivo Saca Chispas booed when Neuquén was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 99 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hipolito Oro didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Deportivo Saca Chispas supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Deportivo Saca Chispas would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
