Nemesio Orkatz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Eustaquio Hermon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 5th minute Camilo Teodor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eustaquio Hermon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 7 played minutes Abel Txatxu rounded RIvErPlATE's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. 11 minutes into the match, VILLALONGA's goal looked a bit too open when Camilo Teodor came free, but Eustaquio Hermon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 11 minutes into the game, Camilo Teodor cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Eustaquio Hermon was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Nemesio Orkatz struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Eustaquio Hermon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for RIvErPlATE. Albano Chano charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Albano Chano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 18th minute, Albano Chano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. VILLALONGA's Eustaquio Hermon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nemesio Orkatz in the 19th minute of play. 20 minutes into the game, Cecilio Rico was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. VILLALONGA's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave RIvErPlATE the free kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Abel Txatxu in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Santos Shepherd prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 28th minute Abel Txatxu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Santos Shepherd saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 35 minutes into the match, RIvErPlATE's goal looked a bit too open when Abel Txatxu came free, but Santos Shepherd reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nemesio Orkatz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Eustaquio Hermon having to make a save. Erubiel Maiorga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Abel Txatxu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Santos Shepherd having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Abel Txatxu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Santos Shepherd was relentless in the 48th minute of the game. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nemesio Orkatz to strike the kick off in the second half. Santos Shepherd showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gerardo Froylan, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. If Gerardo Froylan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of VILLALONGA booed when RIvErPlATE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fernando Frutos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Apolo Lorencio's late challenge caught a VILLALONGA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Apolo Lorencio helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, RIvErPlATE's Apolo Lorencio got a free kick in the 57th minute. Leonel Lobo was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 58th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 60th minute, Nemesio Orkatz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Eustaquio Hermon was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Gerardo Froylan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Santos Shepherd having to make a save. In the 67th minute, Nemesio Orkatz fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Eustaquio Hermon, passed just outside the right post. 70 minutes into the match, VILLALONGA's goalkeeper Eustaquio Hermon had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nemesio Orkatz. In the 76th minute, VILLALONGA's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Nemesio Orkatz fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Erubiel Maiorga recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Santos Shepherd made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abel Txatxu in the 81st minute of play. 83 minutes into the match, VILLALONGA's Abel Txatxu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Santos Shepherd narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Santos Shepherd showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abel Txatxu, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. In the 89th minute, Gerardo Froylan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Santos Shepherd took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gerardo Froylan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. RIvErPlATE's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
