In the 10th minute of the match, Atilano Baladi tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Leonel Celino saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Niceto Maties might have been able to make a better finish in the 12th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Leonel Celino. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Niceto Maties ran back to his position shaking his head. When Pedro Umbruso fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored C. A. Ciudadela Norte's protests and gave Pedro Umbruso a yellow card for diving instead. La Mejor Vida's Samuel George played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Efrain Pio in the 29th minute of play. Amador Pacho charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Amador Pacho the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Amador Pacho kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Marcial Monte managed to get in a good position for a shot. La Mejor Vida's supporters rose to their feet, but Marcial Monte was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leonel Celino breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Evelio Eliu took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 48th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Samuel George. La Mejor Vida's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. Samuel George made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Cristobal Niva sent off a good shot on target. In the 56th minute Efrain Pio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Samuel George saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcial Monte sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Efrain Pio came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the C. A. Ciudadela Norte fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Efrain Pio couldn't finish the play. The audience was convinced that Marcial Monte's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leonel Celino was relentless in the 96th minute of the game. In the 98th minute, Marcial Monte got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The La Mejor Vida fans cheered their team off the field, for while C. A. Ciudadela Norte had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
