After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Dalmacio Umbruso managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gimnasia y Esgrima de LP's supporters rose to their feet, but Dalmacio Umbruso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bernardo Chano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 20th minute, Gualterio Cordarrel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Atilano Izotz scored 1-1 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bernardo Chano, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 24th minute of the match Nereo Jerold shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bernardo Chano showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 27 minutes of play, Almafuerte AFC's Erasmo Panpili made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Felix Lizardi was left in no man's land by his defense there! Erasmo Panpili received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Felix Lizardi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match clock showed 35 minutes, the score became 2-2 when Dalmacio Umbruso sped through Almafuerte AFC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Bernardo Chano. Gimnasia y Esgrima de LP's Felix Lizardi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save Gimnasia y Esgrima de LP from getting a goal against them. In the 44th minute, Cristo Bilintx collided with one of Almafuerte AFC's players - so bad that he fractured his nose. Edgard Bernal hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Almafuerte AFC's zone, Saul Rio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bernardo Chano came out of the goal and Saul Rio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Saul Rio made the kick off in the second half. After 53 minutes Almafuerte AFC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Atilano Izotz who took care of the corner kick. In the 55th minute Gimnasia y Esgrima de LP were awarded a corner. Atilano Izotz went to the cornerflag to take it. Fermin Behe made a great header on Gimnasia y Esgrima de LP's corner, it was just that Almafuerte AFC's Bernardo Chano managed to reach the ball for a save. Felix Lizardi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Erasmo Panpili, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marcial Henric sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Gimnasia y Esgrima de LP's Geronimo Vela got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Fermin Behe hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Erasmo Panpili received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Felix Lizardi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Erasmo Panpili might have been able to make a better finish in the 70th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Felix Lizardi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Erasmo Panpili ran back to his position shaking his head. Almafuerte AFC's Erasmo Panpili got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Saul Rio's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 80thth minute, Bernardo Chano skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 82nd minute Marcial Henric shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Felix Lizardi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Erasmo Panpili had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Erasmo Panpili sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Gimnasia y Esgrima de LP getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Fermin Behe hit a great ball. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
