In the 7thth minute of the game Lázaro Dunixi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Estudiantes de la Plata's Ubaldo Dolfo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 12th minute, Lázaro Dunixi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Packets fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Ubaldo Dolfo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lázaro Dunixi, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. After 16 played minutes Estudiantes de la Plata got a freekick which was hit by Rene Ilixo. Packets's Froilan Urtzi got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Estudiantes de la Plata's Americo Semeno got a free kick in the 18th minute. The supporters of Estudiantes de la Plata booed when Packets was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eustaquio Birjaio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Joel Seguinus got in the 23rd minute the ball and tried a long shot which scored to the left of Cristo Oton and thus it was 1-1. Javier Arias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ubaldo Dolfo having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Estudiantes de la Plata's zone, Froilan Urtzi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ubaldo Dolfo came out of the goal and Froilan Urtzi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 41st minute the ball was on its way in behind Estudiantes de la Plata's goalkeeper Ubaldo Dolfo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Javier Arias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ubaldo Dolfo having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bartolo Farias in the 47th minute of play forced Estudiantes de la Plata's goalkeeper Ubaldo Dolfo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Augusto Urtsua made a kick off. Lázaro Dunixi was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 51st minute. Packets's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Augusto Urtsua fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristo Oton having to interfere. Ubaldo Dolfo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lázaro Dunixi, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Javier Arias recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Packets's Froilan Urtzi got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Augusto Urtsua had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ubaldo Dolfo was out of position in the 85 minute of play, and Lázaro Dunixi capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Lázaro Dunixi really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. When the final whistle sounded Packets left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Estudiantes de la Plata.
