With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ciro Gipuzkoa in the 5th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eusebio Betadur saved Atlas La otra Pasión from getting behind. In the 16th minute, Plátanos AFC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Teofilo Bingen fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Donato Jerrald sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gerardo Elorri made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Teofilo Bingen sent off a good shot on target. Eusebio Betadur showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ricardo Palben in the 28th minute of the match. Ciro Gipuzkoa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Ciro Gipuzkoa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ricardo Palben's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eusebio Betadur read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. Ciro Gipuzkoa struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Eusebio Betadur didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Plátanos AFC. Plátanos AFC's Gerardo Elorri proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save Plátanos AFC from getting a goal against them. After 44 minutes, Isaac Odon mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Plátanos AFC and the Atlas La otra Pasión players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 44th match minute, Plátanos AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Isaac Odon to maneuver through the defense. 45 minutes into the game, Atlas La otra Pasión's Teofilo Bingen nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gerardo Elorri made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Donato Jerrald to make the kick off. Ricardo Palben might have been able to make a better finish in the 51st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eusebio Betadur. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ricardo Palben ran back to his position shaking his head. Ciro Gipuzkoa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eusebio Betadur having to interfere. After recieving a nice pass, Atlas La otra Pasión's Constantino Hermelando tried to score from far away in the 57th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Rodrigo Bibiano kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Eusebio Betadur made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ricardo Palben in the 64th minute of play. Gerardo Elorri showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Donato Jerrald, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Atlas La otra Pasión's Eusebio Betadur played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ricardo Palben in the 82nd minute of play. In the 83rd minute, Ricardo Palben got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ricardo Palben fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eusebio Betadur having to interfere. If Ricardo Palben had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Melchor Rivas charged in rather forcefully in the 94th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Melchor Rivas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Plátanos AFC booed when Atlas La otra Pasión was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Melchor Rivas didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Atlas La otra Pasión players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
