Carolina's Vaja Khatiashvili played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elias Gustau in the 14th minute of play. In the 17th minute Martin Llorenc shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ruben Ovando saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Severo Emenon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Vaja Khatiashvili tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 23rdth minute of the game Martin Llorenc who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bariloche's Ruben Ovando was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some careless play in the Carolina defense, Elias Gustau kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Vaja Khatiashvili. The Carolina fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vaja Khatiashvili should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Bariloche's zone, Jorge Alvarez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ruben Ovando came out of the goal and Jorge Alvarez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bariloche's defense didn't have a chance, in the 31st minute, when Martin Llorenc scored to the left of an out of position Ruben Ovando, making the score, 1-1. A collision led to Carolina getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Humberto Reyes hit a great ball. In the 39th minute, Raimundo Karmel fired a really elegant long shot, but Ruben Ovando threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. If Jorge Alvarez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Antonio Guillem kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ruben Ovando. That made the score 2-1 in the 42 minute of play. If Fabricio Sustrai had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fabricio Sustrai during the 86th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Carolina booed when Bariloche was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabricio Sustrai didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Carolina's Vaja Khatiashvili got control of the ball when Severo Emenon tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 94th minute, Antonio Guillem hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Carolina were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Bariloche for a fine match.
