Spectators: 7371 (Terracing: 5529, Seating: 1695, VIP seats: 147) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Teodoro Joey started the match with the kick off. In the 3rd minute Martin Llorenc shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ildefonso Gil saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jorge Alvarez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 5 played minutes Martin Llorenc rounded Cosmigonon F.C's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. Guillermo Demesio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Jorge Alvarez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Carolina's supporters rose to their feet, but Jorge Alvarez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ildefonso Gil breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cosmigonon F.C's Ildefonso Gil proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save Cosmigonon F.C from getting a goal against them. Ildefonso Gil was out of position in the 21 minute of play, and Humberto Reyes capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Humberto Reyes really showed his touch with that goal: 3-0. Jorge Alvarez in the 26thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Ildefonso Gil, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teodoro Joey in the 27th minute of play forced Carolina's goalkeeper Vaja Khatiashvili to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 30th minute, Guillermo Demesio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Vaja Khatiashvili was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Teodoro Joey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vaja Khatiashvili having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Martin Llorenc in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ildefonso Gil saved Cosmigonon F.C from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Cosmigonon F.C's zone, Martin Llorenc stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ildefonso Gil came out of the goal and Martin Llorenc tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jorge Alvarez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Ildefonso Gil tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Cosmigonon F.C's Raul Segio got a free kick in the 41st minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

After 52 minutes, Jorge Alvarez made it 4-1 with a short kick to the right side. Cosmigonon F.C's Ildefonso Gil tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 55th minute, Jorge Alvarez left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Carolina fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-1. After some careless play in the Cosmigonon F.C defense, Jorge Alvarez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ildefonso Gil. The Cosmigonon F.C fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ildefonso Gil should have stopped the shot. 6-2 became the score in the 67th minute when Teodoro Joey elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. 71 minutes into the game, Martin Llorenc cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 7-2. Ildefonso Gil was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 77th minute, Jorge Alvarez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Cosmigonon F.C's zone, Jorge Alvarez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ildefonso Gil came out of the goal and Jorge Alvarez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Jorge Alvarez came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Carolina fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jorge Alvarez couldn't finish the play. Martin Llorenc sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jorge Alvarez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Ildefonso Gil tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 95 minutes into the match, Jorge Alvarez had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ildefonso Gil. Cosmigonon F.C's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jorge Alvarez was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 8-2.
