Basail's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Casillas the free kick. A collision led to Basail getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Zacarias Loren hit a great ball. Baldomiro Pirmin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Erasmo Atarratze tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 43 minutes into the match, Candido Quinto had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hugo Ortle. Basail's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Candido Quinto was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Basail's Hugo Ortle proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save Basail from getting a goal against them. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

After 51 played minutes Basail got a freekick which was hit by Gabriel Sansone. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Dario Firme managed to get in a good position for a shot. Casillas's supporters rose to their feet, but Dario Firme was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hugo Ortle breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
