The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd play minute Orlando Esquipula came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Juan Piorno. 1-0. In the 9th match minute, Romero FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Santo Soin to maneuver through the defense. Orlando Esquipula fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juan Piorno having to interfere. In the 18th match minute, Romero FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Santo Soin to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 21 minutes, Orlando Esquipula managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. La Delfina's supporters crossed their fingers, but Orlando Esquipula was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 23 minutes, Zeledon Blasi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Romero FC and the La Delfina players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 23rd match minute, Romero FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zeledon Blasi to maneuver through the defense. 25 minutes into the match, Romero FC's goalkeeper Juan Piorno had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Orlando Esquipula. Zeledon Blasi was shown his second yellow card after 25 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. A collision led to Romero FC getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Zeledon Blasi hit a great ball. In the 28thth minute of the game Orlando Esquipula who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Romero FC's Juan Piorno was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Orlando Esquipula received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Juan Piorno tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of La Delfina booed when Romero FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Santo Soin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Juan Piorno came out of the goal in the 41st minute to try and stop a shot by La Delfina's Orlando Esquipula. But to his dismay, Orlando Esquipula quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Orlando Esquipula made a kick off. In the 52nd minute of the match Mauro Amaya sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Juan Piorno skillfully saved the ball. Orlando Esquipula took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Juan Piorno. Juan Piorno dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. Orlando Esquipula recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. La Delfina's Jean-Pierre Mignolet proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save La Delfina from getting a goal against them. Orlando Esquipula fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juan Piorno having to interfere. 72 minutes into the game, Gavino Phelipe was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Romero FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave La Delfina the free kick. In the 72nd match minute, Romero FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gavino Phelipe to maneuver through the defense. Juan Piorno came out of the goal in the 75th minute to try and stop a shot by La Delfina's Benjamin Tunström. But to his dismay, Benjamin Tunström quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-0. The audience was convinced that Orlando Esquipula's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Juan Piorno was relentless in the 84th minute of the game. Orlando Esquipula sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Orlando Esquipula in the 92nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Juan Piorno saved Romero FC from getting behind. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. La Delfina had played much better football throughout.
