The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Octavio Tohias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. With a little luck, La Mentira's Octavio Guilabertus got control of the ball when Eusebio Gergori tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 32nd minute Octavio Tohias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Octavio Guilabertus saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Loreto's zone, Hipolito Salamon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Domingos Pacifico came out of the goal and Hipolito Salamon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 36 minutes, Pastor Suarez mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Loreto and the La Mentira players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 36th minute, Pastor Suarez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 47 minutes into the match, Loreto's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Carlomagno came free, but Domingos Pacifico reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Octavio Tohias was the one to do the kick off. Octavio Guilabertus went to the wrong direction when Cirilo Dayam was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. If Octavio Tohias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hipolito Salamon in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Domingos Pacifico saved Loreto from getting behind. In the 83rd minute Elpidio Eguerdi suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. Jeremias Claude hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, La Mentira's Celestino Rik got a free kick in the 86th minute. Eusebio Gergori recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 95 minutes into the game, Eulalio Honrio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. La Mentira's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Loreto the free kick. After 95 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for La Mentira! When Eusebio Gergori came up free with the goalie in the 99th minute, the Loreto fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eusebio Gergori couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 101st minute, Eusebio Gergori managed to get in a good position for a shot. Loreto's supporters rose to their feet, but Eusebio Gergori was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Octavio Guilabertus breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. There was no doubt that Loreto were the better team. Loreto's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
