Independiente FC's Silvio Gartzea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eugenio Telesforo in the 6th minute of play. Felix Balasi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manuel Eleazar having to interfere. Manuel Eleazar made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Felix Balasi sent off a good shot on target. Manuel Eleazar had great luck who in the 20thth minute grab hold of the ball when Ovidio Padro from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ovidio Padro in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Manuel Eleazar saved Taquito y Gambeta from getting behind. If Felix Balasi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 31st minute, Felix Balasi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Independiente FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. A collision led to Independiente FC getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Francisco Perez hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zeledon Handi in the 40th minute of play forced Independiente FC's goalkeeper Silvio Gartzea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Felix Balasi who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 42ndth minute tested the skills of Manuel Eleazar when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Felix Balasi to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 59th minute of the game Justino Arixo made a throw-in which Zeledon Handi played forward. Francisco Perez's late challenge caught a Taquito y Gambeta's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Francisco Perez helped the player get up and apologised. In the 61st minute, Francisco Perez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Zeledon Handi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 66th minute, Zeledon Handi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Eugenio Telesforo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Silvio Gartzea read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. Ovidio Padro scored 3-0 in the 75th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Manuel Eleazar, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the match clock showed 80 minutes, the score became 4-0 when Felix Balasi sped through Taquito y Gambeta's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Manuel Eleazar. Francisco Perez hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. 92 minutes into the match, Felix Balasi had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Manuel Eleazar. Taquito y Gambeta's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Felix Balasi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. When Felix Balasi came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the Independiente FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Felix Balasi couldn't finish the play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Independiente FC fully deserved thier win.
